As part of the Oosterweel link in Antwerp, COTU (a JV of DEME Group, Royal BAM Group nv, BESIX and Jan De Nul Group) has been assigned the task of constructing the new Scheldt tunnel by Lantis.
‘STURINO’ will design the new Scheldt tunnel at Antwerp
SBE nv and Royal HaskoningDHV, associated as ‘Sturino’, will take charge of the detailed design. The Scheldt tunnel will be 1.8 kilometers long and will connect Sint-Anna on the left bank to the Noordkasteel (port area) on the right bank. The goals of the project are fewer traffic congestions, fewer accidents and improved quality of life in the Antwerp region.
