Kapitein Zeppospark won the first Ghent Architecture Prize

Last Sunday, Kapitein Zeppospark won the first Architecture Prize Ghent. A great success because more than 120 projects were submitted.

This large parc is part of the development “Oude Dokken” that aims, among other things, to upgrade the 3 oldest docks in the area between the Dampoort and the Muide district in Ghent. Now, it’s one of Ghent’s biggest hotspots for locals and tourists.

SBE worked on this fantastic project between 2012 and 2015. SBE was responsible for the full study of all structures (new promenade, renovation of the historic quay walls, beach construction) in this project. This implies:

  • Transforming the architectural concept into a feasible technical concept;
  • Layout (preliminary) design;
  • Architecture of the jetty;
  • Procurement Documents;
  • Provide expert advice during the execution of the works.
